The Roots family.
Our story in brief
Roots is run by Lauren and Gabriel Laurent. Gabriel grew up in Saint Lucia working with horses and guiding riders on these beaches; Lauren grew up in the UK with a lifelong passion for horse welfare.
In August 2026 they submitted the National Equine Welfare Framework to the Government of Saint Lucia, setting out how standards could rise for every horse on the island.

Questions
Do I need riding experience?
No. Every ride suits beginners except the Advanced Canter & Swim, which is for confident riders who ride independently at faster paces.
Can children ride?
Yes. Tell us everyone’s age, height and weight when you book so we can match the right horse. We don’t set fixed limits.
Will we swim with the horses?
On the Private Ride & Swim, Advanced Canter & Swim and Romance & Rose, weather and sea permitting. If conditions make a ride unsafe, we’ll offer another date or a refund.
Can you pick us up?
Transfers from hotels and the Castries cruise dock are arranged separately. Message us on WhatsApp for details.
